Combat Screen

Inspired by WoW's Power Auras this is a fully configurable alerting system. Track what you want how you want. Setup alerts for such things as...

  • A debuff you want to keep up on your target
  • Your focus is low on life
  • An ability just came off cooldown
  • You are running low on mana
  • much much more...
Getting Started:

As KaruulAlert is completely customizable it needs to know a little about your character before you start. The first time you run it, a simple tutorial should be shown to help you get started. If you want to start it again manually, type /kalert tutorial.

If you are still missing abilities or buffs after going through the tutorial, you can enable the ability scanner at any time.

  1. Open configuration (/karuulalert or /kalert)
  2. Check the Enable Ability Scanner check box on the lower right of the configuration screen
  3. Switch roles, buff up, click on random players (load their buffs too) or simply play for a while
  4. Once done disable the ability scanner to save resources.

At this point you will have a good amount of items to choose from but to get the full list of what you can do play around a little. Now you should have all you need to get going. First stop Name, what do you want to call this alert you are making? After that it's just a matter of checking off what you want to track, typing in the ability or buff and choosing what your alert will look like.

  1. Open configuration (/karuulalert or /kalert)
  2. Enter a Name for your alert
  3. Select Buff, Ability, or Resource and fill
  4. Select when you want to be notified
  5. Select who the alert will look at
  6. Enter the name of the buff/ability or select the resource.
  7. Customize the alert
  8. Click Save

You now have an alert for your gaming pleasure.

It seems, that the Addon will not continued (last update is about 2 years ago). Maybe anyone knows how the implement the new primalist-ressource (-100 to +100) for tracking in the code and could share this?

Hi, I wanted to make an alert to show how many stacks I have of the riftstalker buff power of the planes but I couldn't get it to work - the problem turns out to be that there are two buffs with the exact same name "power of the planes" active at the same time, one of which just says that it adds stacks and the other actually having the stacks. I put in a ticket to ask them to change this but I'm not holding my breath. I don't suppose you could pretty please put in a way to get this to work?

edit: I found a workaround for this that works most of the time so don't bother.

I love Karuulalert! I couldn't play without it! But i'm still having to add other addons to 'complete' the experience.

for example, could something like the following addon be added to Karuulalert ? Link to different addon which shows when you are in melee range, among other ranges

I asked this as a warrior who has some problems staying connected, or for that matter staying at a 'proper' distance for a closer to work.

Is there a way to show an alert based on two or more conditions?

    ie: Ability = Ready & Resource-Combo Points = Below 4

In Rift, if you change shards, how can you get your alerts back?

    Figured it out.

Exit Character, copy saved variable from old shard to new and relog. :)

    @Napophis: Go

    From the built-in help:

If you wish to display your own custom image instead of one of the system images you can fill in this box. Currently only PNG and TGA image formats are supported and if using TGA only uncompressed TGAs can be used.

    To load custom images:

    1. Place the PNG or TGA image file in the KaruulAlert\custom folder.
    2. Type the filename with extension into the Custom Edit Box. If done correctly the image should be previewed in the image Selection Box.

Due to a bug in the latest version of the LibUnitChange library, KaruulAlert will produce errors when used together with King Boss Mods and possibly other addons.

I recommend reverting to KBM until a newer version is released.

I'm considering a release with a workaround for the problem, but hopefully the author of LibUnitChange will respond quickly with the actual solution.
